Saltwater Road Artist Residency centers Practice based Research. As such, artists are called to arrive with a clear and specific research question.
Community Engagement is central to the work of SaltWater Road Artist Residency. Artists are called to have identified approximately 3 sites to engage with during their residence.
SaltWater Road believes in the power of storytelling. As such Ethnographic processes are a vital element of community building and emgagement. Artists are called to have identified at least One community member in the state of Alabama to meet and commune with.
SaltWater Road Performance Institute believes in the importance of collective and community driven data gathering. For the SaltWater Road Artist residency, this involves the sharing of artists work and process.
